With Transfomers DVD hot out of the oven, it's a must to get one. A new record was broken for DVD sales, with 8.3 million units on week one and 4.5 million on day one. It's awesome. Maybe it's the best selling movie in 2007. Are you paying attention Michael Bay?

Oh, another record was also broken for HD-DVD sales, with 190,000 units on week one and 100,000 on day one. What happens if there's a Blu-ray version for Transformers? Something terrible will happen.

Michael Bay Loves Blu-ray, no more HD DVD

Transformers Director Michael Bay still want people to see his movies in the best formats possible after drinking the Kool Aid. That is lame. And he has told USA Today something.

"As a director, my critical eye is that Blu-ray is where my money is."

For his best-selling Transformers DVD, he thinks that it's good but "not as good as it could have been." He needs to drink the Kool Aid again.
[USA Today]

Michael Bay says that:

"It's a good DVD. But not as good as it could have been."
"I was traveling promoting (Transformers) while they were doing the DVD,"
"You try to guide people as to what to do (in making it), but ultimately if you rush your date, you are not going to get the DVD as good as it could be. … Studios want to pump this stuff out, and my job is to care about it and try to put the right people on it. They just see it as a show they are selling, and I see it as a movie. That's how your movie lives on, in the DVD format."
